Why did you start Qi Massage & Natural Healing Spa?
My goal in starting this spa was, and still is, to help elevate the health and wellbeing of those living in Winston-Salem and the surrounding areas. My background is holistic naturopathy including nutrition, music therapy, flower therapy, and traditional herbal medicine. I received my degree in Naturopathy in 2009. I have also been a Chinese dietitian for 3 years and in 2017 I became a licensed massage therapist. I am always striving to learn more about the human body and how to better care for it.
What are your plans for the future of the business?
“In 2026, the plan is to open another location in Greensboro that specializes in acupuncture, herbalism, dietitian, massage, and facials. My long-term goal is to create a health retreat in Winston-Salem and the surrounding area.”
What is the most rewarding part of owning and running Qi Massage?
“The most rewarding part of my business is being able to help clients achieve their health and wellness goals. We are always looking for more tools and services to facilitate those results.”
What is the hardest part about being a business owner?
“The hardest part of owning a business is trying to juggle being a mom, business owner, and still find time for myself. However, at the end of the day, touching the lives of others and seeing them heal and grow to their fullest potential far outweighs the challenges!”
How does your business contribute to the community?
“We provide a healthy alternative to traditional therapies and medicine. We care for veterans, seniors, chronic pain patients, and people that are post-surgery. We provide a healthy (physical and mental) solution for the residents of our area.”
Why is self-care, such as the services you offer, so important for people to utilize?
We as a society are busier than we have ever been. The public is beginning to realize we can not keep up our current pace if we do not take care of ourselves. This is why this industry is so important. Stress kills, we strive to rid the world of as much stress as possible. We want to live longer with a better quality of life than those who have gone before us. If we do not care for our bodies & minds that will not happen.
If you had to describe your business and services in one word, what would that word be?
“Healing”
What is something you wish more people knew about massage therapy?
“The benefits of massage therapy are too numerous to list here. All of them enable the body to heal and return to its intended condition. Our services sometimes help with things that doctors can’t fix without medication, like muscle pain issues, emotional release, headaches, and overall well-being.” Regular massage will change your life!
What is the most unique thing about your business?
I strive to maintain a diverse staff which enables us to meet the diverse needs of our clientele. Each of us has different modalities to address each client’s individual needs. We specialize in therapeutic massages like TMJ, headache pain, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, carpal tunnel & sinus pressure.
The cumulative knowledge of our team far exceeds that of other spas in the area and my experience of naturopathy brings a unique perspective to all the services we offer. Our team is regularly training to become more astute in our craft to better serve our clients.
